Land of the Sky Jubilee

I really enjoyed preaching 3 times today at the Land of the Sky Jubilee at Trinity Baptist in Asheville. It gave me an idea of what it feels like in case we start an early service. Was able to see and fellowship with a lot of our friends at our "homecoming." Thanks Bro. Ralph!
We missed being with our own family at Lakeside and look forward to being back with you Wednesday night.

Mrs. Tara sprained her ankle as soon as we arrived.

Pray for my friend Allen Lord. His wife Elaine went to heaven this morning about 6:30. She was a soul winner and faithful missionary with IBJM.
Over 110 campers heading out this morning to Bible Camp. I love it! Pray for a great week.

Aiken Public Safety

Enjoyed spending part of my day at Aiken Public Safety for the retirement luncheon of Capt. Wendell Hall. Capt. Hall has served Aiken faithfully for 35 years and is a dedicated Christian. I am honored to call him my friend. Please pray daily for our local heroes who are protecting and serving our community. What a joy to minister to these fine folks.

Weekly Outreach To Teens

I enjoyed going tonight to Camp Long. Bro. Jim and Mrs. Priscilla have been ministering weekly with at risk teens at Camp Long for over 6 years and have seen hundreds of kids saved. What a great ministry. David Lapsley brought a tremendous message tonight and one young lady trusted Christ. Thanks to all of our folks who faithfully help!

The Last 2 Sundays

My oh my, we sure have enjoyed ourselves in the Lord the Last 2 Sundays. You would think that the Sundays surrounding July 4th would be low days but they have actually been some of our best attended days of the year. Our folks have been so faithful this summer and a lot of visitors have been coming. People are constantly commenting about the sweet spirit at Lakeside. Praise the Lord!

We enjoyed Ricky Atkinson singing last week and the fellowship during the BBQ meal. Ricky has been a good friend of mine the last few years and we will surely have him again.

Yesterday morning I preached from I Corinthians 9 about being a "castaway" and the Lord gave me precious liberty. There was a good response of people at the altar and it just seems the Spirit of God was working in all of our hearts. One thing that thrilled my heart was our weekly "Missionary Moment" when Bro. Larry informed us that 61 missionaries have visited Lakeside in the last 3 years. He also mentioned that we have been able to help over 80 of our missionaries with special gifts when they've needed help above our regular support. I like that because we love missionaries!

We love you and it sure is a tremendous honor to be your pastor.
Enjoy the pictures...

2011 Patriotic Service Slideshow

Youth Trip

Teen Group with Pastor Clarence Sexton
Please pray for Bro. Ray and our teen group as they travel this week. 34 people left after the morning service yesterday and were able to go to the evening service at Temple Baptist in Powell, TN last night. I'm so glad they were able to tour Crown College this morning. They will travel to Milford, OH to work at Bearing Precious Seed, visit the Creation Museum and then ride some of the world's best roller coasters at Ceder Point. This is a special reward trip for all the Bible Quizzers and we are glad they are able to go.
