911 Honor Service

What a wonderful day we had yesterday honoring local heroes of Aiken County at our annual 911 Sunday. It sure blesses the heart of your Pastor to see almost all of our church family participating in this outreach to the Public Safety community. Many thanks to the over 700 who attended and also to the dozens of agencies that displayed equipment. My son Tyler and I were thrilled to be able to ride in one of the helicopters. Special thanks to Chris Alverson and Tim Carlton for their hard work in helping organize all aspects of the day. I will post more photos soon from Bill Narrows. You may enjoy looking at the link below to news coverage from the Aiken Standard. Praise the Lord for the opportunity to preach the gospel and for several who trusted the Lord.

Scripture Sending Service

We hope you enjoy a few pictures from last Sunday Evening's Tremendous Service when we asked the Lord's blessings on the 100,000 Scriptures that are now headed to South Africa. The entire church participated in some way in publishing the Scriptures.

Midland Valley Mustangs

Last Friday, Sept. 4th, we were able to host the Midland Valley Mustang Football players, coaches and cheerleaders for a pre-game meal in our gym. Congratulations on a great win that night! Thank you Helen Atkinson (our Food Ministry Director) for a wonderful meal, and thanks also for the volunteers from our church who were able to help serve. We are proud of the young people from Lakeside, Grant, Casey, and Brad (players) as well as Sydney and Brooke (cheerleaders). Continue to pray for Debbie Knight, coach Rick's wife and their son Chris.

6 More Baptized On Sunday!

Folks are being saved and baptized at Lakeside. Meet the McCoy Family. Ray Henderson, our Youth Pastor, was going house to house, met the McCoys and led the entire family to Christ! What a joy to have them follow the Lord in baptism along with 2 others this past Sunday. Since May 2008, 59 people have been baptized for a total of 125 new members.
"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized..." Acts 2:41

Gospel Tent

I love a Gospel Tent! I love Tent Meetings! Last Thursday I had the joy of directing the men of Beth Haven Baptist Church in Denver, NC in raising this tent. Pray for Pastor David Mims and his people as they have an old fashioned meeting this week with my pastor, Bro. Ralph Sexton from Asheville. God bless Pastor Mark Agan and the wonderful folks of my former church, Community Baptist of Siler City, NC for the use of the tent.

911 Honor Service, September 13

Please pray for Lakeside as we again are honored this Sunday to host the public safety community from the Aiken County area. Last year there were several hundred people in uniform and almost 50 pieces of equipment on display.

100,000 Scriptures sent to South Africa

100,000 Scriptures published in 6 days! "The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it." Psalm 68:11
Pictured above are just a few of the precious folks that were involved in publishing the scriptures from August 30 - September 4. This photo was taken at 9pm on Friday night, just after the project was completed. Over 100 dedicated people were involved in the project.

Please pray for all of our students and leaders in our local schools as well as those who are homeschooling.

Outreach, House to House

Praise the Lord for the 70 people that came for another opportunity to go "house to house" this past Saturday, Sept. 5th. Just 3 weeks ago over 100 came for Outreach to knock on doors. This response has allowed us to cover dozens of neighborhoods and thousands of homes. Our goal is to take the gospel to every home around Aiken and North Augusta and beyond. People are being saved and baptized because of this outreach. Thank you Bro. John George for helping to organize this effort.

The Mike Keller Family

Bro. Mike Keller and Family visited Lakeside on Wednesday Evening, August 26. God has given the Kellers a trememdous ministry to inmates in the prison system of America. Every year Lakeside purchases 10,000 soul-winning books that are used in their ministry.

Bowling and Pizza Fellowship

Recently a group of over 170 from Lakeside enjoyed a Bowling and Pizza Fellowship after the Sunday Evening Service.

Publishing The Scriptures

Wednesday Evening, Day 4

The Challenge to Publish 100,000 Scriptures!

Bearing Precious Seed is publishing 1,000,000 John/Romans for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Lakeside was challenged to publish 100,000, 1 out of every 10. The project began on Sunday afternoon, August 30th and was completed on Friday, September 4th at 9pm.
We praise the Lord for well over 100 of the Lakeside family who were tirelessly involved in the work. Pray for us as we plan to take an evagelism team to Cape Town next summer for distribution and soul-winning.
