Men's Prayer Fellowship

Last night our monthly "Faithful Men" Prayer Fellowship met to begin our 2nd annual Mission Conference. We were able to unload and set-up the Scriptures for publishing, enjoy a BYOS (bring your own steak) meal, and participate in a very moving prayer meeting. I heard weeping and rejoicing as the different groups were praying all around. Thank God for men and young men who are prayer warriors. One of the men who was saved this past Sunday was even praying for the Lord to allow him to "tell others about Christ."
Ask God to speak to your heart this week as we focus on world evangelism.

First Tee

Thank you Jan at Houndslake (also Lakeside) for all your help today. We are signing Tyler up for "The First Tee" program. We are so proud of his efforts at school, in AWANA, and Bible memorIzation. I'm sure one day (I hope not too soon) he will beat me in golf!

On the move

On Monday we went to Chapel Hill to visit a friend in the hospital and I had the joy of leading him to Christ. Today we drove to Atlanta to hear my pastor Bro. Ralph preach a tremendous message on "Touching the Hem of His Garment." I thank the Lord that I was honored to be able to work with Bro. Ralph and I am grateful for his friendship.

Sunday Report

Another great day at Lakeside. The building was filled to capacity again and 2 more men walked the aisle to accept Christ, both decisions a result of our door to door outreach. All the testimonies were inspiring and the music was beautiful as usual. Somehow we also crammed 450 people into our Family Life Center for a great meal prepared by Jody and the people of the BBQ Barn. I'm still overwhelmed that the Lord allows me to Pastor the wonderful people of Lakeside.

Looking forward to the service tonight with my brother, Toru Marshall. Don't forget about our missions conference that begins one week from today!

Just finished a very productive meeting with Bro. Chris Phillips concerning a Spanish Ministry at Lakeside. I'm thankful for this burden that God has placed upon the heart of some of our people that are in daily contact with Latino people. We want to reach this community with the gospel using Bible studies, athletics, English courses and other efforts in neighborhoods. Lord willing, we will be conducting an open-air meeting this summer and we certainly need volunteers.
We are also praying about beginning a Military Ministry in the near future. It's not an accident that the Lord placed us so near Ft. Gordon with key people in our church on base.
These are exciting days at Lakeside!
Yesterday was the 38th Anniversary at Trinity Baptist in Martinez, GA. Thank you Pastor KC Stevens for the honor of allowing me to be your guest speaker.

Enjoyed the fellowship today in Brevard, NC at Anchor Baptist Church. Bro Todd Bell preached an outstanding message on Vision.

Shoes for South Africa

Lakeside is proud to take part in this project to collect shoes for the people living in the townships in South Africa. Barefoot: Shoes for South Africa has been organized by Allyson Shedd, a member of the Lakeside youth group. Upon hearing the testimonies of a group who spent two weeks in South Africa this past summer, Allyson was inspired to make a differece in the lives of the people there, by providing both a physical and spiritual need. Brent Sharpe

Please pray for Brent as he heads to the desert. It sure has been fun seeing him come to church and his family trusting Christ and getting baptized. Thanks Brent for defending our freedom.

Grace In A Crisis Sunday

Wow! What a joy it was to have Bro. John Bishop with us on "Grace In A Crisis" Sunday. The Lord has given him great grace in the midst of serious health decline. In spite of his circumstances he constantly states that God is so good! We are certainly praying for all of our folks who are going through their own trials, that they will experience God's grace through the fire.
Our attendance has steadily grown over the last 2 years with almost 500 this past Sunday. Please continue to pray for the decisions we will be faced with about future expansion. After adding more seating and parking last year we are still needing more room. Our ushers were on their toes trying to find seats for everyone.
Last Saturday, 70 folks came out again for Outreach knocking on hundreds of doors. That is our priority. The world population is rapidly approaching 7 billion and every hour 6390 step out into eternity. We must never waver in our passion to spread the gospel of Christ. I want us to "Stay After Souls" in every way possible.
