"Duty Calls" Outreach

Please be in prayer for Bro. Rob and our military ministry on Friday. We are having a football outreach and are expecting a number of soldiers from Ft. Gordon. Our new site for Duty Calls Ministry is www.dutycallsministry.com

Happy Thanksgiving!

We trust that you and your family will enjoy a great day today. We certainly thank God for His mercies to us each day. The Tuesday evening Thanksgiving service was a real encouragement to many as we shared prayer promises, praise reports and prayer requests. Several folks who could not come called to tell me that they enjoyed watching online. May God bless each of you.

Update

Had another joyful day at Lakeside this past Sunday, praise the Lord for more public professions of faith. The Joy Class Thanksgiving meal was a real blessing. Thank you Jody and Susan for donating a delicious meal! Then Mike Hawkins gave a good challenge to fathers on Sunday Night.

Met up with the Narrows last night at Cheesecake Factory in Charlotte and enjoyed a fun time. They treated Tyler to an early birthday cheesecake. Bill is hardly ever pictured on my blog although his work is... he is our professional church photographer. Thanks Bill!

Enjoyed an early Christmas fellowship on Saturday evening with several families at the Lapsley home. The Lapsleys are gracious hosts and have done a remarkable job of decorating every room of their home for Christmas.

Spent some time today in Aiken trying to encourage some of our local heroes. Chief Frommer recently asked me to become the Chaplain for Aiken Public Safety and I was honored to do so. What a great opportunity for ministry!

Enjoyed fellowship with some of our young adults and Missionary Amy Blackburn last night. We met Amy while we were in South Africa last summer.

Another great Sunday! I had the joy of leading a young man to the Lord over the phone Sunday night. Had fun at Houndslake with the golf fellowship yesterday. Taking the new bus to the paint shop in NC this morning. Praise the Lord!

Gerad and Megan

Congratulations to Gerad and Megan on their wedding last night! We love this talented young couple and are anticipating a great future for them. Gerad is working on his doctorate in military history and of course Megan has been a blessing to us as our graphic designer.

Sunday Report

Praise the Lord for the 6 new believers who were baptized this past Sunday. Two of those were young men who were led to Christ recently by their friend Kenneth. It's exciting to see God using our teens and college age young people to reach others! Also great to see another new family come for membership...

Sunday Report

Praise the Lord for another good day this past Lord's day, 3 public professions of faith, 4 new members and a tremendous offering to pay for the shipping of shoes to Africa. So thankful that there are a number of people ready for baptism this coming Sunday.

Dale Money

Dale Money with Bearing Precious Seed led us in the publishing and sending of 30,000 scriptures to the people of Fiji. What a delight to participate!

If The Shoe Fits...

Pictured above with me is one of our fine young adults, Allyson. Behind us are 3000 pairs of new and gently used shoes that were gathered over the last few months in a project led by Allyson for the people of South Africa. Missionaries Bryant Crane and Dave Rudolph will use them as tools to spread the gospel of Christ as they distribute them to the needy in black townships. We are proud of you Allyson and we are thankful for the many who donated the shoes.

3000 pairs of shoes (we reached our goal) on the way to South Africa to be used as tools for reaching people with the gospel. First stop is Greenville to be packed in a container and then on to a ship in Charleston. Thanks to all who donated shoes and thanks to Larry, David and Caleb for making the trip today.
