Gary Hanna - San Salvador, Bahamas
Just heard from my good friend and missionary Gary Hanna in the Bahamas. San Salvador took a direct hit from the hurricane but thank the Lord they are fine. Just lost a few roof shingles. Praise the Lord. I look forward to taking some folks there at the end of this year to help him with some church renovations.

Disaster Supplies
YES, we will still be collecting disaster supplies even if the hurricane does not affect the Carolina coast. A trailer is already at Kroger in North Augusta and collection will begin in the morning or you may bring supplies tonight. We now have a Disaster Relief Ministry and we will always need supplies on hand for this hurricane season or any other disaster that may affect the CSRA or our state. We need to have the ability to be on the scene with aid quickly.
Please remember to help in the following areas:
Post info on social media or send email to inform others of needed supplies
Bring supplies to church or Kroger in NA or the BBQ Barn in Aiken (No trailer at Reid's yet)
Distribute fliers at work, school or other churches
Please volunteer a few hours at Kroger at the collection trailer starting Thursday morning thru Saturday (sign up tonight)
Lord willing we will see you tonight. It's a joy to serve the Lord with the wonderful people of Lakeside!

Back To School Sunday
We had a great day this past Sunday honoring all of our students and teachers. Pray for these folks as they try to be salt and light in their schools this year. We were glad to have Pastor Lance Halford and his wife Sarah visiting with us as they were just taking a break from their ministry. Praise the Lord for another full to overflowing building again and continue to pray as we consider beginning an early preaching service.

911 Honor Service on 9-11-11
Begin now to invite folks to our 4th annual 911 Sunday. What a great opportunity to reach out to the life savers in our community. The nation's attention will be on the events of 10 years ago in New York and Washington, DC but we will take the time to honor and feed our local heroes.
Pastor David Mims
I was blessed to be able to preach last night for Pastor David Mims in Denver, NC at the Beth Haven Baptist Church. I've known David my entire life (he is my cousin and more like a brother) and we've always been very close. We've shared so many ideas about ministry over the years and I am so excited that God has given him over 25 fruitful years at Beth Haven. I was impressed when he showed me the plans for their new Family Life building - looks great!

Jarrett Rifles
Spent the day today at the Jarrett Rifle factory in Jackson. I was invited by the founder Kenny Jarrett to come down and get a personal tour of his facility and museum. I was impressed to see the world's most accurate custom rifles, bought by some famous people, being made! Kenny is a dedicated Christian and I am now honored to call him my friend.
