Loving Israel and the Jew

Every Christian needs to watch or listen to Benjamin Nentanyahu's speech today at the UN. I preached this past Sunday on "Loving Israel and the Jew" and I can't wait to return to Israel again in November with a group from Lakeside! Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

911 Report

Wow! What a fantastic day last Sunday. I love the people of Lakeside! The Lord is certainly good!

I believe every person from Lakeside was involved at some level in helping pray, invite, plan, prepare, welcome and minister last week as we remembered 9-11 and honored our local heroes.

When everything was counted, I think there were over 40 life saving vehicles displayed, hundreds of first responders in uniform, 770 in attendance (we fed almost 900) and 10 who prayed to receive Christ as savior. The gym and tent were both filled for the meal (thanks Jody) and everyone from the public safety community seemed to be so grateful for the recognition.

This is our 4th annual 911 Honor Service and we want to thank Chris Alverson and Tim Carlton for their tireless work in helping to organize the entire event. Preaching the gospel of Christ is always our passion and we are so grateful that God has given us an open door of ministry to these dear folks.

Siler City

You may hear me talk about Siler City, NC a lot because after 21 years as an assistant pastor I pastored my first church there, Community Baptist. We really did enjoy being there again and preaching on Wednesday night of this week. Everyone was so kind to us as we remembered God's goodness to us during our ministry there. Pastor Mark Agan is doing a great job there and we had a good time of fellowship with him, his wife Beth and son Tyler.

I was there to help preach a funeral for Anthony, a man that I had the joy to lead to Christ. After I spoke first then Pastor Mark preached a great salvation message and 7 people trusted Christ. Praise the Lord!

We're glad to be back at Lakeside and look forward to a wonderful Lord's day tomorrow!

Thank the Lord for Bro. Leon! He does a remarkable job of always keeping our property looking sharp.

Fall Ball
