Overdue Update

My family and I have been enjoying a few days away and it's past time for an update on the blog.
Sunday, May 2nd was another great day at Lakeside with 4 more new believers baptized. It was a joy once again to have an entire family in the baptistry. The church family honored us for our 2nd anniversary at Lakeside and presented us with very kind gifts. We love each of you and are amazed at what the Lord has done in just 2 short years. We look forward to the future!

We also enjoyed having some special guest missionaries Dan and Cherish Principe from Siler City, NC. Bro. Dan was my Assistant Pastor at Community Baptist and has done a fine job there for the past 4 years. The Lord has recently led them to go to Sanford, Maine to help Church Planter Todd Bell and we will be supporting them in their ministry. I relied on Dan at a time when I greatly needed him. He is an outstanding young preacher and I am extremely proud of him.
Bro. David McCoy preached a tremendous message this past Saturday at our CSRA Youth Rally. Bro. Ray did a fantastic job of organizing the entire day with over 250 teens attending. The Victorious Valley Girls and our youth choir each blessed us with singing and the altar was filled as the invitation was given. Praise the Lord. You hear a lot of negatives about this young generation in the news today, but I am so glad that there are some young people who are standing for the Lord. One of our high school seniors, Allison Shedd is leading the "Shoes for South Africa" drive and they have now collected over 1000 pairs of shoes on their way to 3000! This is going to be a great tool for the missionaries in South Africa to use.
We certainly enjoyed Mother's Day this past Sunday too. It seems like every week just gets better and better. More new members, a profession of faith, beautiful music and the house was filled again, wow!
Looking forward to the AWANA awards Wednesday night. We love each of you and can't wait to get back.
